I had a gift from one of my high school classes one Christmas, as we did a yankee swap. Although I was not included in the swap, two boys came up with a package, just the size and heft of a girlie magazine. I told them thank you, but I cannot accept this gift, and please take it back where it came from. They guaranteed that it was not what I thought, after threatening them with failure for the year, if it was inappropriate, I reluctantly peaked inside the package... It WAS a Playboy magazine, but they were safe, as it was in "braille"! The US Govt. used to supply them to the blind. So here was this brown bag quality with no more indication than the black head of the "bunny logo" on the cover! So their guarantee was good. I kept it around for some 20 yrs on the shelf as a conversation piece, to remind me of these crazy kids. Last year, as cleaning stuff up, I came across it, then I put it on craigslist for $25. Didn't get a call, 4 mo. later, got one from Anchorage, AK, a collector in the Air Force. He wanted it badly, and sent me a check for $100 to cash, and then mail it to him. Those kids would laugh if they knew the outcome of their prank! My crazy sister would say, "how can you sell it, you have worn off all the bumps"!! But I do not know where to learn braille.
