    i have a 2006 cobalt 2.2l ecotec motor

had a knock, found that #1 rod bearing bad. motor has 188,000 miles, I removed the oil pan it looks like the motor was not getting enough oil, found a dime size aluminum disk  and a 1/4(dia) x 1/4 (hight) light wieght spring in the bottom of oil pan, was not in the oil pick up tube. suspect its from the oil system bypass, all pictures i've seen show a larger and longer spring and no disk.  Any segestions or ideas would help.

Sorry, we are a general question and answer forum. You need a mechanic or garage that deals with racing engines. I'm not even sure where to direct you on the internet.
