I no longer have the dogs but I also have a gun (licensed) and a BIG f*****g bat!

Never had much trouble, fortunately.

   I was buying groceries today and when I turned around to put an item in my shopping cart it  was no where in sight. I paniced because I had my purse in the seat of the cart and of course it was missing too.  Everything is okay, as it turns out, a little ole lady just grabbed the wrong basket . She admitted this to me as soon as I tackled her and held her to the ground. Tee- Hee!

 For safety at home I have a shot gun and and an ultra alert dog.

For several years......doors are locked, day and night.....car doors are locked when parked or driving around....always park in a well-lighted area....keys in hand while walking to car....no purse if just out for a walk, stay away from bad areas at night.  I don't live in fear but just use common sense.

I have floodlights around the house and of course I am armed. I have 2 fireplace pokers, one by the front door and one by the back door. I have been putting off getting another dog, after my mini-dachshund was put to sleep. I need to get going and get another dog. My dog always started barking when anything , like animals or people were in the area. I felt much safer then.

Years ago, when my daughter was driving me to the hospital for a test, there was a man walking on the sidewalk, close to the hospital and he was staggering and seemed to have trouble. My daughter stopped, I rolled down the window and asked him, if he needed help. The next thing we knew, he opened the back door and jumped in the back seat and told us to drive up the hill we were on. On top of the hill, he told us to take a right. It was a dead end street. We slowed down and he jumped out of the car, said thanks for taking me home and disappeared in a house on the dead end street. My daughter and I were terrified. until it dawned on us that the man was intoxicated and did not mean us any harm. We had to learn a lesson the hard way. Always keep your car doors locked.

One of the best defensive things to have is a can of wasp spray!  You can hit someone from 20 feet away! It will temporarily blind them! That sounds like a cheap defensive weapon!

KIDS!!!..That`s enough to scare anyone off!!...At MY MA`S..Security lights..alarm...panic buttons to cop shop..locks galore..Two strapping lads(Bros guarding the joint)!!...Phone line wires are underground so can`t be cut...my dad was a genius always worried re safety for us lot first!!!...I just have an iron bar..should the kids fail us!!LOL!!

I have had cctv cameras mounted on the front of my house for some years now. We are still reasonably casual about security here,although it is becoming an issue.Up until last year we had a dog & that's the first thing the cops tell you to get if you are concerned.
