Who loves thunderstorms? If you love them like I do, you have to watch this video!

This one hit about 2 hours ago. It's quiet and sunny out now. It was wild, loud with lots of rumbles and cracks of thunder. You can hear all the sirens from the emergency vehicles heading out for calls most likely because of the alarms that go off when the power goes out. The rain poured down, the wind picked up and even though thunderstorms do not bother the dogs, there was one crack of thunder so loud and so close, it made me jump and scared Digger right out of the house as he was standing next to me in the doorway. You can fast forward to 6:36 of the video to hear and see that part. Leroy ran the other way and into the dog room to hide. If you love your thunderstorms, loud and noisy watch this video I made. This was a cool storm!!! Click on the picture to watch the video.  Oh and turn your speakers up! :)

WOW!!! I loved it. I have always loved thunderstorms even as a little girl. I could curl up with a good book now, but would probably fall asleep:) Thanks for sharing.

My favorite Sunday was always one that involved a thunderstorm and old black and white movies on TV. It was not really the same for any other day of the week. Just Sundays. Not really sure why.

Cool storm though huh? Did you have your speakers up?
    ROMOS

Yep, we had that kind of rain here last week, no thunder though.

The rain is not so much the impressive part, the thunder is. It was too light still for the camera to pick up the lightening well. Except for the last crack of thunder that scared the dogs, none of the thunder was as loud or as close as the two that hit right over the house and made the house shake right down to the foundation.
    ROMOS

I like thunder, but none of my dogs ever liked it.

I'm shaking right down to my foundation. If I come for a visit I'll make sure I pack my inner tube.

You can hide in the dog room with Leroy if we have a thunderstorm while you're here, lol

Great video,I like your (or who ever was talkings accent) I love storms, we get a lot of electrical storms here, a stray dog got such a fright he ran straight into my lounge room a couple of years ago,I left him there until it passed, those big trees near you might worry me a little though

Yes, that was me. That's a mixed New England accent :)
Those big trees are what caused so many problems during the Oct 2011 freak snowstorm that put the power out for over a week in this state. Digger is fine now but I fear he may never be so calm in a thunderstorm again after this fright.

Poor puppy, you may need to try and get him inside if you can when the weather gets a bit scary,I open my door to any animal that's scared in a storm, usually the dog next door, they leave the poor thing outside no matter what, and he gets terrified

He WAS inside. It just scared him so back that he ran outside instead of into another room like Leroy did. I was standing just inside my front door and he was standing next to me when that loud crack hit. My dogs are inside dogs. They go outside only when they want to :)

A shame my neighbor doesn't look after her dog as well as that,I sometimes think he'd starve if I didn't feed him, they say they keep him hungry to go pig hunting eeek!

I have a neighbor like that too. I get so angry with the lack of care that goes into their dogs. ;(

    Loved it, thanks Colleen.

I wish I had lowered my camera sooner, the look on his face as he stood out there in the rain was priceless.

    hahahaha!

I cant say I love thunderstorms, I have always been afraid of them. Great video and your poor dog outside I really felt sorry for him/. We had a little rumbl at 6 pm and a little rain, but it passed very quickly.

He ran out there, lol....don't feel sorry for him when he ran the wrong way!

That was a nice storm! We could sure use a little of that rain here!  I had a dog once who was petrified of loud noises! When a storm approached he would be on the porch crying to come in! Then he'd hide under the table. Sometimes I would hold my hands over his ears to help him. I would turn up the TV real loud to drown out the storm sounds! Thanks for the video!

    I love thunder storms!     :)

    TALKING DOG

A guy is driving around the back woods of Montana and he sees a sign in front of a broken down shanty stylehouse: 'Talking Dog For Sale'. .He rings the bell and the owner appears and tells him the dog is in the backyard.

The guy goes into the backyard and sees a nice looking Labrador retriever sitting there.

    'You talk?' he asks.

    'Yep,' the Lab replies.

After the guy recovers from the shock of hearinga dog talk, he says 'So, what's your story?'

The Lab looks up and says, 'Well, Idiscovered that I could talk when I was pretty young.

I wanted to help the government,so I told the CIA.

In no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in rooms with spiesand world leaders, because no one figured adog would be eavesdropping.'

'I was one of their most valuable spies for eightyears running. But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting any younger so I decided to settle down.I signed up for a job at the airport to do some undercover security, wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded a batch of medals.

I got married, had a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired.' The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner what he wants for the dog.

    'Ten dollars,' the guy says.

'Ten dollars? This dog is amazing!

Why on earth are you selling him so cheap?'

'Because he's a liar. He's never been out of the yard'.

I found the most interesting place to experience a storm was out on the ocean. Really a very unique feeling to feel a ship the size of a destroyer churning through a tropical storm...kind of like living on a roller coaster.

Great video!  I love storms!  I was on my porch last Fri. night when the wind storm came through- it was awesome as I'm in a bit of a wind tunnel anyway!  They say most people have their power back on now.  My cat has been awesome about having company!  (He mostly just likes to be alone with me).
