You may find an answer here..... http://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=web&cd=5&sqi=2&ved=0CFoQFjAE&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.2carpros.com%2Fmakes%2Fpeugeot%2F407&ei=0z7uT8vXCYaa8gSRmZmRAg&usg=AFQjCNH0BRnz5_SoRlUz8dTz_4uUFTe4_A&sig2=eQ7WTNyXXG0rJaggTyaD8Q

    Because it's French! LOL.

But seriously, there are many things that can cause overheating.

The most obvious...low coolant level.(2) blocked thermostat.(3) blocked radiator.(4) cracked or warped head or blown head gasket.(5)blocked exhaust.(6) Timing not set properly.

It's all trial & error with overheating but you can look for telltale signs.Oil in the coolant or water in the oil can mean a head gasket. It's relatively easy to test the thermostat but you have to take it out to test it so you may as well replace it.The cost shouldbe less than $20.

    Good luck with it.
