It is saying that Jesus is telling these people that they need to change their words and actions, probably because they're harsh. And if they don't they won't be able to live in that place. The place Jesus is talking about is 'the gate's of the Lord's house" which is the same meaning for the temple, church. If they claim to be Christains and act the way they're acting then the actions they make shows that they don't even care about church.

Jeremiah 7:4 Do not trust in these deceptive words: ‘This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.’
In other words, do not trust the temples (churches) for they will not bring you to the true God.
Jeremiah 7:8 “Behold, you trust in deceptive words to no avail. 9 Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, make offerings to Baal, and go after other gods that you have not known, 10 and then come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, ‘We are delivered!’—only to go on doing all these abominations?
Do not worship to God when you continue to do abominable acts or you will not be allowed entrance to dwell in this place >> the kingdom of heaven. No one dwells in a church.
In a nutshell, Jesus said, the temples lie. Do not believe in them.
