get him a prescription for anti--motion sickness pills, like Dramamine, or Bonine. Or look on the lable , and see if there is a dose for a human baby, and give him that. But I think it says for under two years old, consult a Dr.

He may or may not get over it with more car trips. My Bichon mix used to get carsick but after a few trips, he became used to it. Lower the windows a little or let him breath in the air coming from the dash vents.
On the other hand, I had a dog years ago that never got over it (even with meds from the vet).

First and foremost consult your vet about this issue.  There are animals that get car sick just like kids do.

I had a Pomeranian that got car sick all the time, I gave him ginger snaps and it helped out a lot. And as Pam said a car seat worked great for him. It was the best thing I did. I believe that his car sickness was that he could not see anything and it made him nauseous. After the car seat no more ginger snaps and no more getting sick.

I had a Yorkie that lived to be 15 and didn't like riding in the car. I did like Kennelman suggested -- short, but fun trips like to a park, praising him everytime the short trip went OK. What really helped was a little car seat that he could sit in and see OUT. It was strapped in to the car seat and he had his own little seat belt thing too. I think the brand name was "Outward Hound". He would sit up in that and look out at everyone and didn't get sick after that.

Part of the reason he becomes nauseous is because he expects to, once he is put into a car.
You need to break this pattern by leting him experience car travel without the 'car sickness' / nausea.
So bring him on very short trips, starting with 5 minute journeys and working up to longer & longer trips.
Also letting him see out the window while travelling (sit him up on a cushion) will help ease the nausea.
If you can source 'Bachs Rescue Remedy', a couple of drops in his drinking water the evening before & morning of the day he travels will take the edge off his nausea. Good Luck
