Sorry to hear that doo. Keep in mind though, that the health care professionals are not necessarily always right. Sometimes their patients surprise even them.

Did you get hurt on the job? My neighbor is collecting workmans comp. He gets $782 a week, and will get that for 500 weeks as long as he's under a doctors care. SSDI is $1,100 a month.
Hope things go good for you, hate hearing of anyone with chronic pain.

Thaks for your kind thoughts!
Not trying to depress you but, do you now qualify for SSDI? You can collect and continue to work at something for so much a month. Not a bad state, retirement.......

I did not see Hypnotherapy on the list for pain and there is also Healing Touch Therapy for pain which resembles Reiki but is a bit different in that many work on the one unless you know some one person who is very very good(my step- Maw). Medicine man may help with some purification ceremony and this can help dispel the pains of the past that can rear their heads via cell-memory compounding the difficulty. THC for pain is not unheard of as are other topical herbal remedies...there are also some water therapies that may prove beneficial for you...see Jethro Kloss' book "Back to Eden" for these. Massage works wonders for some pain sufferers as well and hot-cold remedies may help at least to lessen the requirement of chem-pain management. One good herbal ointment using Arnaca is a topical pain remedy and last but not least (for now anyway) try a Chinese herbalist! I send you Love and Peace Doc and God-speed the healing process for you! Now! :)

I hope you feel better soon. Love & prayers Ann
Het Hem.
I have no Official comment.
I have issued a personal memo to Doolitle with all of the legal places to obtain the weeds.
Doo, I hope you find some solution for the pain.
If only the advice and caring by your friends
here could somehow ease some of it for you.
A little card.....
and a cheezy joke for ya.....
A local business was looking for office help.
They put a sign in the window, stating the following: "HELP WANTED. Must be able to type, must be good with a computer and must be bilingual. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer."
A short time afterwards, a dog trotted up to the window, saw the sign and went inside. He looked at the receptionist and wagged his tail, then walked over to the sign, looked at it and whined.
Getting the idea, the receptionist got the office manager. The office manager looked at the dog and was surprised, to say the least. However, the dog looked determined, so he lead him into the office. Inside, the dog jumped up on the chair and stared at the manager.
The manager said "I can't hire you. The sign says you have to be able to type." The dog jumped down, went to the typewriter and proceeded to type out a perfect letter. He took out the page and trotted over to the manager and gave it to him, then jumped back on the chair.
The manager was stunned but then told the dog, "the sign says you have to be good with a computer". The dog jumped down again and went to the computer. The dog proceeded to demonstrate his expertise with various programs and produced a sample spreadsheet and database and presented them to the manager.
By this time the manager was totally dumbfounded! He looked at the dog and said "I realize that you are a very intelligent dog and have some interesting abilities. However, I still can't give you the job."
The dog jumped down and went to a copy of the sign and put his paw on the sentences that told about being an Equal Opportunity Employer. The manager said "Yes, but the sign also says that you have to be bilingual."
The dog looked at the manager calmly and said, "Meow!"

Doo, sorry to hear about your troubles and I have read what the people have said to you and I cannot input too much more than they have. I do think that after this amount of time without a paycheck, you should make it clear to your doctor that is not only your back that is in pain but you are having some bad financial pain as well. There are a few things they look for when it comes to a back disability and you will need to know what those are and you will to know them as well as you know the back of your hand. If I were you my total focus would be on researching all aspects of getting disability. 100%. You also need to change your mind set from I think I do to I know I do. Again sorry for your pain.

Hey Doo, not good news,I empathize, what I am recovering from may, or may not be of some help.I have just had an Implantable pulse generator fitted into my back, it is attached to several wires that run along my spine, the control device is wireless and I determine how much nerve stimulation I need anytime I require it, the process is tedious and takes several trials before they will put one in permanently (Ive just had mine fitted) it doesn't fix any problem, however gives huge pain relief by interrupting pain messages going to the brain. The brand I have is Eon patient programmer and is made by ANS a St,Jude medical company (American I think) but I'm in Oz and have had it done here, not sure where your from but it's a thought anyway, hope it may be of some help, but if not, find yourself a pain management specialist and get some relief so you can get on with your life, best of luck xx

Also new medications for chronic pain , Jurnistar is a new slow release oxycontin which I find doesnt leave you feeling dopey...
I spelt it wrong sorry
Elplat is the other drug they use it for pain or cancer patients, because my bones were rejecting themselves I had to have Chemo..
Pain patches are best as long as your not allergic to tape, they seem to control your pain Norspan patch is normally what they would start you on first.. But trying to control pain with drugs means you have to take it the same time every day :(
Believe this. No matter how dark it appears now, everything works out exactly the way it should in the end. Without even asking, your needs are known ;)

Doo, dont believe what they tell you. Be positive. Have you tried NST?(New structural Integration Techniques)? Yoga and meditation can make a big difference.
Did you ever hear of Dr. John E Sarno? He wrote 4 Books on Back Pain.1) Mind over Back Pain 2)Healing Back Pain 3) The Mindbody Prescription 4) The troubled Mind. He has had some great sucess, treating people with Back Pain.
Have you ever been to a Osteopath? They can adjust you back from the neck down.
There is a natural drug called Antraxanhin for back pain, it has very potent inflamatory properties and in many cases works more effectively than NASIDS, without the side effects. You can get all the information on the Net.
Dont give up, there is so much more to explore. xxx

I know exactly how you feel I worked for 20 years before I was told to give up work or never walk again.
This is just the beginning of your emotional roller coaster, you feel worthless, useless and you do feel the loss of wage, but now I think differently I put my health before wealth.
You will appreciate things you never thought of before.
Do not feel alone find yourself a hobby or something that helps you get through the day.
Do pain management courses or clinics. And insure you have the tools to manage bad days.
Find yourself a good support network whom will help you out when needed , also find out all the services available to you.
Remember you are still you with or without your illness , you can still be a fantastic person or help others. These are rewards in themselves.
Good luck

Do they know what you have?
I found the best pain management clinic in OZ to be the one run by doctor Brett Tod-hunter he is in Albury it was 3 week live in, I benefited from it, but as time does pass this is 4 years ago the techniques become old and you seem to get use to them :(..
Another thing to try is Zen Liniment spray, a lot of heat rubs burn the skin rather than help the joint or area of pain. I find using this around sleep time helps.
I don't know about You both but I find that wheather plays a big part in pain, if it is summer you swell , if its winter you swell and ache?
I have tried a lot of medications, low dose anti depressants to stop nerve pain, epilepsy drugs the list goes on.
If you ever need to chat let me know I will give you my email..
So sorry to hear Doc,my thoughts and payers are with you pal, why not get a second opinion as mentioned above, you know that medicene is not an exact science who knows what the future holds perhaps they just might come up with an answer until then do what the good doc says and keep smilling..

Hey doo, you've never told us what your regular line of work has been. I'm wondering if there is something different you can do and enjoy? At least think about volunteer opportunities to keep you busy....definitely something with animals
I have faith that you will be better than the doctor thinks, and you will do something for financial gain again. One of my friends has been undergoing PT for about 18 months....it's taking a long time, but she is not giving up. I hope you don't, either.
In the meantime, like ed shank said, get a good attorney and shoot for the moon.
You are on Benthere's prayer list, and that is a powerful place to be.
You are in my thoughts and prayers, and I say, be realistic, don't ever give up hope, take baby steps, and see you on the flipside. STAY STRONG.
You are loved very much.

Doo: I’m sorry. I have had Chronic Pain for ten years. (injury) I have adjusted to a different type of life. It took awhile.
I have been through all those therapies you have tried. I don’t think any of them helped me. Methadone works fairly well and there’s no problem of addiction because there’s no high. : / I believe it’s the strongest opiod you can take.
I hope we can be good “pen pals” (((Doo)))
My pain doctor wants me to have a pain pump. I don’t like the idea -- not one bit!
