You could contact a DIY store like Lowe's, Orchard Supply Hardware, of The Home Depot. They should have someone who can give you different options for restricting the water flow on your shower. You can get a shower head that has an on/off "button". Your water temperature doesn't change, but the flow of water is halted. Works well, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
