Only if you don't mind spending a lot of time alone.  But then, why be in a "so-called relationship" at all?  Isn't it about doing things together and having someone to share your life with?  Personally makes no sense to me.

A relationship is mainly about being together with someone.

It has for one of my brothers and his lovely girlfriend for 3 years...She`s in Poland and he`s here in UK!....They are SO loved up..(HE`D KILL ME for saying it)!:-)...They are apart due to work and study circumstances ..but they spend quality time together as often as possible and either/or travel to see each other!...I`ve NEVER SEEN TWO PEOPLE SO TOTALLY IN LOVE!!!....They are made for each O!!...Hopefully..it won`t be long before they are together in the same place!....where there`s a will....:-)

A friendship perhaps, but a relationship, I don't see how.

It has for me nearly 40 years and still in love. we work together but we take holiday away sometimes( I go Fishing and camping in Scotland a few days a year)

Yes......if you're really committed and mature about it. You have to be unselfish too . My nephew married a girl that lived in Florida and he lived in Wisconsin. He said 900 miles meant nothing to her. My dad married my mom and he was living in the Det area of Mich and she was living in Chicago. He liked train trips anyway.
