      Well this depends on what program you are gong to see. If it's an opera or something classical, then a nice gown would be appropriate.

          When I'm not sure what to wear, I rely on black pants, black shoes, and a conservative sweater or blouse.  You will fit in with those who are dressed formally as well as those who have dressed more casually.
