    I have a verbal agreement with an elderly home owner to have room and board in exchange for house cleaning. can home owner physically throw person out of home?

    Seriously, we need to know in which country you are living to advise you.

    I'm afraid the first thing I "saw" was a vision of an elderly person heaving him/herself out of a chair, picking you up and hurling you into the garden.

    I think I's better go and make some lunch: obviously I am light-headed.

    In the USA (though this too can depend on the state) No contract or lease = no rights. Yes, the person can throw you out.
    In Australia a verbal agreement is binding, however it is hard to prove such agreement was entered into.I also had a vision of some poor old codger throwing you over the front fence. Did you ever think it takes two to tango? Have you been cleaning or just pretending, have you been doing something that the owner doesn`t agree with, swearing, smoking, getting drunk the list is endless. Have you been taking advantage of the owner because of their age? Unto thineself be true.
    an agrement which is not registered is void, if is registered then you have right otherwise no
