 One step forward for equal rights. The decision is already being appealed however so half step back. If the ruling stands up to the appeal, then the proponents of DOMA will take it to the Supreme Court. If it hits the Supreme Court and is still found to be unconstitutional, then the fight to make gay marriage a Federal decision will begin. So all you states out there who believe writing discrimination into your state constitution will keep your bigotry alive and well, beware. When the black human rights fight was brought to the US Supreme Court, human rights won out over discrimination.
