It's a measure of a mass/mass concentration.
Other examples of mass/mass concentrations include:
mg/kg = milligrams per kilogram, also as parts per million (ppm)
ug/kg = micrograms per kilogram, also as parts per billion (ppb)
g/100g = % (parts per hundred)
In your case, mg/100g would be 'parts per 100,000'
