a colony of bees has taken up residence in a wooden bird nest box on the wall of my house in rochdale lancashire. Is this usual? is it a problem? should I be doing anything about it? I am a complete novice I don't even know what type of bee they are.

Best try and contact a local bee keeper, they would be able to help. Don't kill them what ever you do, they are our life line, without bees we could not exsist.

please leave them alone if you want them move contact bee keeper. bee are not a problem they will go at end of season if there are bumble bee that,s the fat one's

I would suggest you contact a beekeeper, if they are honybees. They teeter on the brink of extinction. Our planet can not survive without honeybees.

Contacting a beekeeper sounds like a logically good choice, especially in this day and age of africanized bee colonies being found in colder climates nowadays.

I would hire someone to get rid of them. They can be a nuisance and could create a mess.

Eventually they will become a problem and you will need help from Pest Control Company.

Ring the council they can arrange for it to be removed to another site , Bees favour post boxes also. Lancashire resident Dunc
