Heading Eastbound on HWY 501 into Aynor, South Carolina the Speed Limit is 60 MPH (sign is posted), however one you reach the City Limits there's a Speed Trap set-up where the Speed drastically drops from 60 MPH to 45 MPH. When I asked the Police Officer about this, he told me that it drops to 55 and then to 45. I never recall seeing any 55 MPH Speed Limit Sign, nor did my GPS reveal this either. Can you advise me on this supposedly "Posted" 55 MPH Speed Limit Sign? Thanks!!!

      Can't advise you as I don't live in the USA, but personally I would have driven back to look for that sign if I had an issue with the Police.

        I actually just called the Chief of Police, apparently the 55MPH zone exist, but the posted Sign had been recently knocked down. He checked in on it and it wasn't put back up by the SC DOT until the following day!!! The charges were dropped over the phone. They didn't have a leg to stand on. Chalk one up for the "GOOD GUYS!!!" YES!!!!!
