What is/was your favorite swimming hole, beach, lake, pool, etc.?
I lived in Florida where there were some great beaches, but my fondest memories as a kid were going to some of the local lakes at the state parks in WV and southern Ohio. One had a really cool waterfall you could dive off of, and another had a a dock you could swim to that was about 200 yards from shore. I also swam alot with my friends at a nearby river with a rope swing. Good times!

This amazing swimming hole consistently tops ten lists of swimming holes every year with its 50′ waterfall and gigantic collapsed grotto. The pool is surrounded by large slabs of limestone with large stalactites forming from the ceiling. Although a bit traversing is necessary to reach the pool from the parking lot, it is well worth the effort. Thirteen miles west of Texas Highway 71 on Hamilton Pool Road (FM 3238). 512-264-2740. Open year-round.
