    I have a 1996 ford mustang and the theft light is blinking and i connot turn the ignition

    As to the key not turning, that may not be related, you may have turned the key to off, while holding the wheel turned, when the power steering went off.


    Try pulling hard on the wheel, in both directions while turning the key.


    If you still can not turn the key then it would appear that for some reason the anti-theft system has been engaged.


    Look in the Owners Manual for the procedure to unlock the system.


    You will need your TWO valid "Chip keys," to do


    If that does not work, check the brake interlock switch on the foot brake, to see if it is powered.


    If it is not you will need to have the systems annualized at a dealer to discover the fault, WBMS
