OK, now I have to follow up the question about your children's names with a query about your own!
Do you like the name your parents gave you or would you change it? If so, what would it be?

My mom had planned to name me Beverly, but shortly before my birth, met a couple of people who scared her right out of it. I know a Beverly now, through akaQA, and she is a fantastic person. Obviously, my mom didn't meet HER!
The name I finally got is in honor of one of Mom's best friends during nursing school. They still exchange holiday greetings some 60+ years later. :D
Would I change my name? Yes. I would like something like Joy, Casey, or Dorian.

My father named me. I liked the nick name he gave me as a child much better. When my eldest daughter received my nick name as her first name my parents began calling me by my given name... I was devistated. My first name is after a character in a book, shortened and Diane is my middle name.
People call me what my sister me called when she was alive, these days. It reminds me of her whenever someone says it.
I don't think I ever really cared for my name... which is why I put a lot of effort into my children's names.

I was supposed be Micheal Steven, when my father registered me he changed it and named me after a County in honour of his best friend, my middle name is after my father, i have put up with insults and variations of my Christian name ever since -- 'Kent'' i think oi would have preferred Micheal, Mike or Mick.
