Hi, can you help me on this matter i rung around to get the best quotes on car insurance i found one on the 08/04/2012 which was fantastic got them down from about £470 to £335 at this point you are thinking well done as i had a lapse in my old car insurance of more then two years but less then three years so when i rang up for a quote i asked for a company that would take my 6 years no claims which i was told there was a company which goes up to 3 years that was just what i wanted i then haggled got them down to £335 which i paid in full on my visa debit card there and then, then on the 23/04/2012 i got this text message please contact us as a matter of urgency in relation to your motor insurance policy on 0844------------ which i rang straight away got kept on hold for least 5 mins before talking to a human being they tell me they have tried to contact me loads of times thats rubbish as this was the first contact from them since i gave them my proof of no claims over the phone days later after taken the insurance out they tell me that the insurance company they have only goes up to 2 years for no claims discounts not up to three years which i was told so they cant precede with the insurance i have right now i told them this is not on as the mistake was done at there end by a member of there own staff who represents there company, the manager who i spoke with today 23/04/2012 16.30 gave me a fresh quote of which i never asked for and told me they have a company which will go up to 3 years price is £460 im not at all happy as the mistake was 100% clearly there fault a real cock up just had the manager ring me again 23/04/2012 at 17.05 told me so sorry she has got it down to £399.87p so now they want me to pay an extra £64.11p on top of the money ive already paid them telling me there going to meet me half way does not help me as im still paying more money she has given me 7 days to decide if i want to pay it or cancel then they will give me back my money with no admin charges so nice of them told her how can a mistake happen like this as three off her staff did not pick up on the mistake till now she told me if i go to the ombudsman they will only say that the insurance company only has to offer a 2nd quote option im told i do have insurance for the remaining 7 days by the manager of the insurance broker please can you tell me what rights i have in this matter what are the best next steep would like to hear that they have to pay for my full comprehensive cover at the agreed amount i had before with them.
