doolittle , save your breath and your mind. You might as well be trying to convince Fox watchers that Rupert Murdock and Roger Ailes(sic) are real people and the Koch Bros. have a cola co. Never gonna happen, but I really, truly empathize!

Rose-Marie I am not a retired math professor nor do I even understand what your stating such has to do with the question. I am an active classical/jazz pianist, trained and have a degree in business and music and have operated a very successful restaurant for 30 years.. But! what does this have to do with anything?? You are a professor of math so therefore your opinion is better than the sewer worker?? This is the leftist elite voice you are speaking in.. 'I am a professor'. Who cares??
Your opinion of Fox and their 'twisting the truth' is common when they say something not to your liking, I would venture to say not only do you like NPR and its left leaning agenda but you also like MSNBC for the very best in truthful reporting. When i listen to MSNBC all I see is name callers and angry leftist instigators of hate. This is what I see but of course you do not! see how this works Rose-Marie professor of math?? You believe what you want to believe then you make snide remarks about what in 'your opinion' is evil, and you are a 'professor' so therefore we peons must adhere to your intellectual preachings.
I am sorry, here on akaQA I am usually easy going but when I see an elitist left or right attitude like this I lose it. Come back down here with the rest of us we appreciate your giving to the field of math and your hard work to achieve but unless you gave up your 'human card' you ARE still one of us..

I agree Doolittle, problem is 'what is truth'.. All of us have a perspective, some right, some left, some middle. Regardless of where you are politically, you will always seek what supports your political stance all others are lies. This is human nature, we believe what we want to believe' this is target marketing. It works! Politicians learned this a long time ago. We are the pawns, they are the players. We will never know the truth until the facts have manifested themselves into the history books. For now, we buy the brand that makes us feel good. i don't like the Obama brand based on 3.5 years of what I have seen, not heard.

Headless, First to be clear, I am a conservative, you all know that. That said, I just don't take anything for truth when it comes from a dedicated conservative www site.. Nor do I take it for truth when some liberal points me to one of their liberal sites for the truth. To me, all media is hearsay and delivered in the image they want you to see. so, if it is coming from a conservative site, its anti obama, coming from a liberal site its pro-obama. Both lie through their teeth, although i doubt you will find many liberals that think the way i do, to them, what they have to say is the facts.. And they absolutely will not involve themselves in a confrontation that will discredit what they say, facts or not! My neighbor is a die-hard liberal, she doesn't even watch TV or listen to radio, she gets her news totally from liberal blog sites. She says she hates bill O'Rielly, i say how do you know? You don't watch him, she says she reads about him on the internet.. LOL

Look, regardless of differing political point of views we may have I care deeply about All American's 1st Amendment rights...so I researched this, and spoke to some people who would not lie...The fact is Our 1st Amendment Rights Hold Strong- they have not been changed!!! Which is the way it should be!!!!!

doolittle, i know that you get upset easly and I hope you can keep your cool on this too but you say 'you have talked' to some persons that would not lie' (?) i don't understand who these people are?? are the liberal democrats? conservative Republicans?? How can you be so sure they are not lying? Lying is a big word, i think 'mis-informed' and passing this misinformation around to people that will look at it as gospel truth! Either side! I don't take for either side when it comes to political news. I too cherish the 1st amendment, however, this freedom of speech is great but we also have freedom to listen to whom we wish to listen too. I will listen to anyones opinions, however, i detest being called names and looked down on because i don't agree with them. Anyway. You and I have close to the same beliefs, however, as a suggestion to you, never say 'I know people that won't lie' because this in itself is tickling the truth. Just remember, everyone hears what they want to hear and this is what they perceive as the truth! and equally on the other side, there are people there that they too only listen to what they want to hear. If you took a sane and all the lies pass thru and leave the truth, no matter who shakes that sane, there won't be any truth left behind-- its all lies!
