Funny!!! LOL Okay, okay, okay!!! Here's a TU for makin me laugh!!
Congratulations on making a healthy decission,if you really want to make this happen it will.Keep in mind all the nice clothes you can wear, better self esteem, happier, extra energy, etc.Just keep on what your doing but add a little treat along the way so you dont feel deprived.5 meals of 300 calories a day sounds like a great idea and a 30 minute walk daily is enough exercise for now.good luck

Thanks for the vote of confidence! I really want to do it this time and make it a life change not a diet! Counting calories and seeing what I would have eaten has helped me to see the reality of what I need and what I want!

Oh dear...good luck with that! It is hard to kick deeply ingrained habits!
judging by your avitat you look great
    monkey11

LOL!! Thanks, but if I did what the Expert told me to do it wouldn't be quite as pleasant as the cute little monkey in the tree!! :) I have lost some weight though! It helps to feel like keeping on trying!
i'll be checking in oh you as well, you can do it...
    monkey11

Thanks! I'll report back...might not be able to get on line for a few days...but will try!
Hey monkey good to see you, I eat smaller quantities in each meal and eat a sandwich about every two hours, also drink a lot of water. It works great for me especially when my back is messed up and I can't get around to well. This will trick you body into storing less fat.

In nature when food is plentiful we animals eat frequently, but in smaller amounts. This causes the body to store less fat. When food is scarce we eat fewer meals and more in one sitting. That causes us to store more fat, as you know most people eat 3 times a day and this isn't enough.

Walking is excellent, riding a bike is great as well, but if you find a nice place you enjoy to take walks it's a great way to burn calories. Just make sure to increase your distance once and a while, bring plenty of water. Hope this helps... TMO that's my opinion.

Thanks, Leeroy! I have been doing pretty good. Do have a bad day now and then where I exceed my calorie intake...but don't see it as a failure. I just get up the next day with a new page and start again! I've got some physio exercises to do and am starting up doing my yoga again, so hope that helps too! I like to walk if I have a purpose, like if I'm going somewhere, rather than just walking for the sake of it!

Anyway...thansk for the great advice! Need to drink more water!!

No problemo, dieting is meant to be cheated on so don't beat yourself up over it, if we weren't allowed to cheat on our diets we would most likely give up on them much sooner.

If you can find a beautiful park or mall around you somewhere that you would be interested in walking, that may help. The cool thing is you can walk for hours and not really get tired.

But you have to do something that you enjoy. Keep strong and reassuring yourself on the diet and exercise, it has to become a new way of life and not a just diet or exercise if you know what I mean. Stay strong...

Thanks so much Leeroy! That is what I'm working at making it this time! A way of life! I have been successful a couple of times in losing 20 pounds, but once I got there I got lazy...this time it's more about being healthy than what I look like! I'm learning that life is not about outward beauty...if I got a scar across my face and lost half my hair my inner beauty could still shine through and is more important!

    Thanks for the great encouragement!

    My pleasure monkey anytime...
Whenever you feel like eating fatty stuff, stand up, go in the middle of your room, put a favourite CD on, turn it loud, dance in the room like crazy while imagining yourself as a beautiful, healthy, skinny person with a cinderala-like dress awaiting your prince. :) works like magic on my obese friend, the funniest/stupidest friend i have known. love her.

Thanks! Made me laugh!! Yes I am a girl, but I don't own a princess dress and I'm not into dancing! :P However...I may just have to think of that when I do and it will make me smile and think of the friends that I have that are making me laugh and pullin for me!! Thanks!
Here are a few of my favorite low calorie items. Hebrew National 97% fat free hot dogs (40 calories each) orowheat light 100% whole wheat bread (2 slices 80 calories) mustard & sauerkraut/substitute with ketchup, fried onions/green peppers, good lunch.
Quaker Old Fashion Oats (150 a 1/2 cup) 2 tablespoons brown sugar (60 calories) & cinnamon & 1 pack stevia (natural sweetener) good breakfast & very healthy.
Mission low carb 100% whole wheat tortilla fajita size(80 calories) green peppers, portabella mushrooms, atheno's reduced fat feta (cheese 90 for 1/4 cup) hunts mushroom spaghetti sauce in can (45 calories 1/2 cup) put tortilla in pan till crisp, add sauce, toppings & cheese for a delicious pizza under 300 calories!

Eat 5 meals of 300 calories each & drink 8 glasses of water a day

    Thanks! Sounds good!
Obesity can cause diabetes which is a very NASTY disease. That should be enough incentive right there. If not, do you have children or grandchildren, or a spouse, or even a pet that depends on you - well that is incentive as well!
Best wishes on your journey. The fact that you are looking for encouragement is a good indication that you are trying so that's 1/2 the battle.

Thanks! I don't want diabetes!! My DR used that scare tactic (sp?) to get me started! It's a good one! I do have siblings and friends that mean a lot to me! maybe I mean something to them too?! Thanks! I'm gonna win!
Sorry I was a little slow on the thumbs up!!! Only one month for some of you!!! Anyway...thanks for taking an interest in helping me with my endeavor at a healthier life!! It has paid off with 7 lbs so far! Thanks, again!!

Sorry, I can't help you much. I have never been overweight. It could be because I eat in moderation. When you leave the table, your stomach should be only 80% full. I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables and I never eat junk food. However, I do like chocolate sometimes. I never buy biscuits or cakes and keep them at home. Going to bed early and getting at least eight hours sleep helps you to lose weight too.
Thanks for all the great help! I have been pretty good at counting and am not feeling so hungry! There will be tests, but I 've got some great tips! If you think of anything else feel free to write again! :)
I will help you my friend. I on the other hand have lost over 180 lbs. and Now I can't stop the effects.
