    Removal and Installation


    REMOVAL


    Raise and support the vehicle.Remove the wheel and tire assembly.Mark the front disc brake caliper to ensure it is installed on the correct front wheel knuckle.


    Remove the banjo bolt and copper washer. Discard the copper washer.


    Brake Caliper Bolts


    Use a Torx(R) T40 bit to remove the two brake caliper bolts.Remove the front disc brake caliper from the front disc brake rotor.


    INSTALLATION


    Use a C-clamp and a used brake shoe and lining to retract the caliper piston fully in the piston bore. Install the front disc brake caliper over the front disc brake rotor with a rotating motion. Ensure that the inboard and outboard front brake shoes and linings are properly positioned.


    NOTE: Ensure that the correct front disc brake caliper, as marked during removal, is installed on the correct front wheel knuckle. The bleeder screw should be positioned on the top of the front disc brake caliper when installed on the vehicle.


    Lubricate the stainless steel locating pins with Silicone Dielectric Compound D7AZ-19A331-A or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M1C171-A.Install the brake caliper bolts. Tighten the brake caliper bolts to 24-34 Nm (18-25 ft. lbs.).Install the banjo bolt and new copper washer. Tighten the banjo bolt to 17-20 Nm (12-14 ft. lbs.).Fill the brake master cylinder reservoir with Ford High Performance DOT 3 Brake FluidC6AZ-19542-AB or DOT 3 equivalent meeting Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A.Bleed the brake system.Install the wheel and tire assembly. Tighten the lug nuts to 98-118 Nm (72-87 ft. lbs.).Lower the vehicle.Road test the vehicle.
