    x+y=-8

    Give (x) a value and find what (y) equals.

    x = 2:  2 + y = 8  >  2 - 2 + y = 8 - 2  >  y = 6  >  (2, 6)

    x = 3:  3 + y = 8  >  3 - 3 + y = 8 - 3  >  y = 5   > (3, 5)

    x = 4:  4 + y = 8  >  4 - 4 + y = 8 - 4  >  y = 4  >  (4, 4)

    Now, you can graph the three points.

    _________________________________________________________________________

    x + y = 8

    x - x + y = 8 - x

    y = -x + 8

    slope >  m = -1  (-1x)

    y-intercept  >  b = 8

    On the graph, go to the y-axis and go up 8, stop, put a dot and go down 1 and over to the right 1, and put a dot. Repeat the cycle from that dot. Down 1 and to the right 1, and put a dot.  You'll see you will have the same points as above.

    x = 4: 4 + y = 8 > 4 - 4 + y = 8 - 4 > y = 4 > (4, 4)
