    Why is it good to build a dam to save water?

    Employment (Of builders),Electricity generation,water conservation.I don't know where you live but here in Australia,water is our most valuable resource.We are the driest continent on the planet.Water conservation is critical.

    Well, lots of peope will be employed to build it for one thing.

    It was the best I could come up with on short notice. ;)

    We take fresh water for granted which is dumb. A dam is a smart investment.

    No clue but sounds like a dam good idea to me.

    Well, like the others have said it provides jobs, but I think that it benefits the country in a more indirect sense. It would most likely benefit the more local economies and the country in a cumulative fashion.
