Check this out>>>What are the signs, symptoms and potential health problems of HPV?
Most people with HPV do not develop symptoms or health problems from it. In 90% of cases, the body’s immune system clears HPV naturally within two years. But, sometimes, HPV infections are not cleared and can cause:

    Genital warts
Rarely, warts in the throat -- a condition called recurrent respiratory papillomatosis, or RRP. When this occurs in children it is called juvenile-onset RRP (JORRP).
Cervical cancer and other, less common but serious cancers, including cancers of the vulva, vagina, penis, anus, and oropharynx (back of throat including base of tongue and tonsils).
The types of HPV that can cause genital warts are not the same as the types that can cause cancers. There is no way to know which people who get HPV will go on to develop cancer or other health problems.>>>FROM>>>http://www.cdc.gov/STD/HPV/STDFact-HPV.htm

i dont think its contagious as in say a cold but they think it can be hereditary and past down through the gene`s

no, but some people are predisposed to certain cancers genetically,if for instance your family had a history of breast or bowel cancers etc, I would be keeping up regular checks

In his book, The Germ that Causes Cancer, author and television host Doug Kaufmann asserts that not only fungi, but also foods play a role in the etiology of cancer. He has seen children become free of their documented leukemia once the child's parents simply changed the child's diet. Kaufmann's diet is base on the widely-published problem of mycotoxin contamination of our grain foods.

Grains such as corn, wheat, barley, sorghum, and other foods such as peanuts, are commonly contaminated with cancer-causing fungal poisons, or "mycotoxins." (5,6) One of them, called aflatoxin, just happens to be the most carcinogenic substance on earth. If this is indeed a problem, Kaufmann asserts, then cereal for breakfast and soda pop for dinner may not be conducive to a cancer-free lifestyle.

A case in point: in a grain-based diet, we consume, on average, from 0.15mg to 0.5mg of aflatoxin per day. (7) Further, he states, it is not the sugar alone that is the problem in our western diet, but the fungal toxins that are found in the sugary grains. More than once has Kaufmann interviewed a caller (on his health talk show) who absolutely craved peanut butter and popcorn just prior to their diagnosis of cancer.>>>>See more here>>>>>>>http://www.oasisadvancedwellness.com/learning/cancer-contagious.html

Well, Yeah, Maybe if you took a specimen of someone's cancer, and transplanted it in someone else, they would then have it.

No,so if  its you or someone you know whos been unfortuate to have been diagnosed with this disease, theres no reason why you cant hug or be hugged, touch and be touched etc x

No, Cancer is NOT contagious. But, some contagious situations can lead to cancer, such as genital worts.

    Nope- not contagious!!!!!

What about oral cancer and the other sad and true female one?
    According to my dentist.... :(

I have never heard of oral CA being contagious- but, your dentist probably knows more than I do. As for the virus you can contract...they have pinged 4 strands as eventually becoming cervical CA and a few more as "maybes" There are something like 24 strands of the virus. They are still not sure it is the virus or the fact that the virus lowers immunity on the cervix allowing CA cells to form and grow.
There is a major scientific understanding that CA cells (abnormal cells) grow in people every 7 years or so and that already damaged cells (lung cells damaged by smoking) or a lowered immunity (from multiple causes) permit the CA cells to grow or fail to destroy them.
