littleman you do not have to agree with the answers here. If you choose to comment on them pleas do so in a polite manner. We have little to no toleration for name calling, using cuss words, etc. Thank You. I hope all works out for you.

Ok, i will watch my language. But while we are on the same subject, do you think it's ok for millie111 to make references to me being gay and an alcoholic, last time i checked, the word "fag" is about as offensive as you can get. if this is the kind of answers that i continue to get, Then this is a very disrespectful site.

For millie and where she lives, the term fag means cigarette. We are a world wide forum so you have to understand words mean something different depending on what part of the world you live in. I left her a message concerning her comment to you.
As for this site, you can not judge it based on one question. Underemployment is not a federal program. It appears it is a state thing and not all states recognize it so not everyone will know about it. As was suggested, you answered your own question. You are now unemployed, file for unemployment.

    littleman2071

Send me to jail for WHAT? Claiming UNDEREMPLOYMENT? Last time i checked if you live in michigan, and you have a job that doesn't give you 40 hours a week, you can file for UNDEREMPLOYMENT. You can't get sent to jail for that. And, by the way, Just because you've never heard of UNDEREMPLOYMENT, doesn't mean that there isn't such a thing. And YOU are the one that's rude, not me.

If he's only getting a day or two of work a week due to work shortage, he can file for unemployment to get some compensation for what he's not earning. It's only a percentage of it, to help people survive the times.

You are cheating.........how can you file for unemployment, while your working, You are a scam. Hope your caught and soon.

I was asking about UNDEREMPLOYMENT, not unemployment. There is a difference.Underemployment is explained as follows,an “underemployed” worker is one who has some earnings in a week but is still entitled to some unemployment benefits for that week.

littleman2071, I am sorry, please tell me, what does underemployment mean, never heard it before.
    millie111

NO ME NEITHER!!...i HAVE NO CLUE TO WHAT HE`S ON ABOUT OR IF HE LIVES ON THE SAME PLANET???..but I THINK THAT HIS ABUSIVE LANGUAGE AND ATTITUDE TO EVERYONE SPEAKS VOLUMES!!...why the need to be abusive to everyone???...I`D STILL SEND HIM STRAIGHT TO JAIL!!!:-¬
    millie111

well little rude man...you`ve answered ur own question wouldnt you say!!!

If a person is not getting a full work week due to a work shortage, they can file for unemployement to get some compensation. It's usually no where near their normal wages, but it is designed to help those who only get a day or two of work in. It is perfectly legal.

Due to the times, unemployment is funded by federal money in there being such a large amount of people out of work. That means that all states have to follow certain guidelines in order to receive federal money, so much of the requirements are somewhat uniform throughout the states.

If you have questions regarding eligibility, you should inquire with your department of labor regarding any requirements you might need to fulfill. It is 15-20 minutes well spent if you are needing to rely upon unemployment. If you have a legitimate question, you should always contact them, even if it is a hassle reaching them.
