    why do house windows sweat?

    Might be lack of proper insulation. When hot/warm air meets cold/cool air, it causes moisture. If you're familiar with car windows, it's the same principle. Get into a car  on a very cold day and chances are that your heat combined with the heat in the cabin will cause condensation; you'll see that a properly working defroster, defogger and opening the windows will help..
