I did read the story and it makes no sense that this neighborhood crime watch captain shot 17 yr. old Tyvan Martin as he was walking home from school. The boy was not armed and supposedly was on the phone talking to his girlfriend. I dont know why they have not arrested that man. He claims Martin attacked him. Something is very fishy here. I hope Justice will be done, I will be following that story.. My heart goes out to the family/

Another reason why the US gun laws need changing.
"The right to bear arms" probably was intended originally to bear arms to protect your country in time of war, not to become what is perceived by many to be a gun mad gungho society.
Add to this the fact that no one appears to know the full and accurate account of the incident.

Now I have research to do- read up on both of these awful murders! (It has been so gorgeous outside these past few days that I haven't watched the news- I have been walking with my cat. Yes, my cat and I take walks together- odd but true!

If civilian casualties are regarded as "murder" then the USA committed horrific murders using atomic bombs on Japan as did all the allies in both world wars.
Britian flattened Dresden to show what they could do.
Unfortunately the media beat up anything they can without a thought of the reason it happened.
War should be fought on the field not in our lounge rooms.
Agree or not civilians are collateral damage.

It so sad I can't bear to watch the latest updates on the story. Some people absolutely do not and should not have guns, but anybody can get a gun. This guy was a hunter, with an itchy finger. He's be in big trouble if he had shot an endangered animal. There has been a history in this country of shooting and hanging black citizens and slaves. People use to gather round while they hung black men and cut off their private parts. The word picnic came from "pick a nig . . ." Some people still may think its ok. The man probably got a thrill out of his act ike they use to. It was a form of entertainment back in the day. People were even permitted to shoot and burn down houses and businesses if black people that dared to vote. To see the problem is still here some people are trying to take the vote away from 75,000 people by requiring they have a voter id. Sad we people will not grow up. And we are the leaders of the world, setting example for rest of the world. Woody Haroldson, the actor just said, "When I heard how people talked about the middle and lower class behind the scene of my movie, it makes me weap for humanity."
