Does it feel like the 1st day of Spring to you?

    Not to me.

Spring begins in the Northern Hemisphere on March 20, 2012, at 1:14 A.M. (EDT). Here’s more about the start of spring, signs of spring, and stunning spring photos!

    The Vernal Equinox

Ah, spring! This season brings increasing daylight, warming temperatures, and the rebirth of flora and fauna.

The word equinox is derived from the Latin words meaning “equal night.” The spring and fall equinoxes are the only dates with equal daylight and dark as the Sun crosses the celestial equator. At the equinoxes, the tilt of Earth relative to the Sun is zero, which means that Earth’s axis neither points toward nor away from the Sun. (However, the tilt of Earth relative to its plane of orbit, called the ecliptic plane, is always about 23.5 degrees.)

I live on the East Coast and it is warmer than ususal at this time of the year. It does feel like spring has arrived. It feels wonderful.

Here in Krefeld FRG at 14:00 its a beautiful sunny day. With the thermometer showing 13° celsius it could be a little warmer but nonetheless spring is in the air.

We're having big oceanic squalls moving through today between glorious moments of sunshine...unseasonably cool but hey,out here on Vancouver Island,if you want the weather to change...just go for a ride up the road for 5 minutes and it'll change!!Aha!

Yes! Here in southwestern Michigan , we have set record highs 7 days in a row. high 70's low 80's Amazing!

    WOW! That is unheard of!

The past few days have felt more like the last days of spring and first days of summer.

    Whereabouts be ye?

I be in upstate New York, the 51st state (as soon as we secede from New York City).

It both feels and looks like spring here. I live in CT and this is unusual for us considering we are only part way through March. Yesterday it was sunny and 85 degrees here. Today is looking about the same. Trees are budding, flowers are sprouting, grass is growing, and all the spring/summer birds are back and building nests. Yup, it looks like spring. :)

feels good here. 80 degrees right now.

It feels pretty warm the birds are chirping alot.

We got 3 inches of rain during the night last night and today feels fresh and clean, all of the lawns are green and the peach trees in my yard have bloomed. Yes, it feels like spring today............

I love a good storm that cleans the air and leaves everything so crisp in color.

After the hail this past weekend, and the clear blue sky today, yes, spring has sprung. My little flower beds are colorful.  The real test will be to see if I can stand a raw egg up on its end.  THAT will seal the deal.  :D
    Great info, Ed

with the temps at 85 degrees here in Michigan, it sure does feel like spring.......if not summer!

    Lucky you!

The weather certainly feels like Spring here in Connecticut today. The balance of light and dark is a magical time of year. Mother Nature is waking up and the Earth is starting to stir. Welcome to the wonderful feeling of renewal and to the Vernal Equinox. The Brightest of Blessings to ALL.

Well not really.More like the "Bed springs digging into my "back.

Yes its warm and sunny where i stand.

Uhhh, where was winter?  On vacation?  In my mind, No, not yet.....

Nope, but I guess that's cause it's autumn here

    Ed1530

How can it be autumn? What are you going to say that you are clear on the other side of the world and you’re taking to people with a magic string called the internet? Come on now. (Kidding)

It has been windy here really windy some gusts up to 60mph & cold has well, yucky, yucky. Most people here are saying they are tired of this crap.

No, it's because Hawaii doesn't have the four seasons you have.

It feels wonderful all year round.  See?

Can you put me in that picture please.

They say today is the first day of spring , well look more like first day of summer has arrive, beautiful here in north on Ont.

Without being too specific, I did get some spring in the spring. Summer should be great.

NE Pa. It's raining again. The weather is so different on top of this mountain than down in the valley. Anything over 50F at this point is better than 20F.

Where I live spring comes and goes many times from February through May...
