What does the owners manual that is sitting in your glove box tell you?
From a Mercedes forum:
Quote: It's my understanding that after removing the key from the car, if you hit the REST button the car will try to maintain the temperature last set for about 30 minutes. It will stop automatically if it senses the battery is draining. I plan to use it a lot here in the 120 degree desert.
