                                Almost every creature I've ever heard of that "licks", does so with its tongue.  So that would be my answer.  Use your tongue.

                                    When I was a kid we could be entertained all day watching my dog lick peanut butter off his nose.  He really enjoyed it too, he lick it off and put his nose down in front of me wanting more peanut butter on his nose.
