Proper rent payments? I don't understand? Are you wondering about government help? I did not know there was a guide line for PROPER monthly rent!

Used to be a ratio of 1/3..monthly-- so at 10k rounded would be $833 per month income divided 1/3 would be $277 per month rent. leaving 556 for all other expenses..   Good luck on that one!

If they're still around, go live with your parents.

Whatever you agreed to pay when you took the rental.

If it more than a 1000./ month than you'll have nothing to eat.

25% of your income can go into the cost of housing.

Hence, you could pay $2500 per year, or $208 per month plus utilities.

better be careful of your money. gov`t housing takes 33% of your monthly income for rent. you can get on HEAP, (home energy assistance program) for low income people if you qualify. good luck. oh yea. you may be eligible for foodstamps, wic too if you have kids.
