Hi, Colleen, thanks for input. In the Great South Land we have access to the registry and can obtain a "extract" which shows the date and place of birth, probably your short form, or we can get a "certified copy" which has mothers maiden name, occupation, age, place of birth. It has the fathers, name, age, occupation, and place of birth. This also has the name of any older siblings that the mother and father have plus any that are deceased. The form is signed by the Doctor and witnessed by normaly the midwife or nurse in attendance. Of course the place of birth of the baby is also shown in full. Name and location of birth site, hospital dwelling or whatever and the date of such birth. Oh forgot above the mother and fathers normal place of residence is also shown. xx.

Well I did not know what a birther was either and I still don`t. Was Obama born in the USA or wasn`t he? Surely that is not a difficult question, go to births deaths and marriages records. And for your information Colleen spells her name with a capital "C". A little courtesy goes a long way.

Thank you PL. xx Public records only show the short form of the birth certificate. The short form did not have the official seal or the doctors signature. Obama had to submit a waver request to get copies of the long form to show to the public. The long form has the signatures of his mother and the doctor and the seal.

colleen , how can you answer when you don't khnow what a birther is. a birther is anyone ,who does NOT believe that pres. obama was born in the u.s. and thus does not qualify to be president.

i'm a aussie,i was under the impression to be president of the u.s.a., one had to be born in the u.s. is that correct?
I did look up later what a birther is. First time I had heard the phrase. I still maintain it has nothing to do with color. I now say, for them, it has everything to do with the legitimacy of his "natural born citizen" status. The president played the game of "I'm not showing you my birth certificate" and fueled the fire. The incompetent man didn't have to play the game. I now question if his newly released long form is legit. It doesn't take much to produce a fake document. He should have dispelled the question 2 years ago. Why now? Why not then?
You are correct bulletman. If he's not born in the US, then he's simply a citizen, either by having American parents or by naturalization. Neither of which makes him qualified to be president.
