Then you should at least consider changing your first name to Ican, pronounced the same as I can. That way you'd have the name Ican Doolittle, with some consideration for a middle name of Barely. Your name would then be: Ican Barely Doolittle, or Ican Easily Doolittle. Hm...Ican Doolittle actually has a good sound to it!

You'd be in great company with Lieutenant Colonel James "Jimmy" Doolittle, USAAF.-- Doolittle raid of 1942.. He and his squadron bombed Japan bringing quite a morale boost for Americans and scaring the bejezzes out of the Japanese even though they did little damage, they put the fear into the Japanese that we could in fact bomb Japan at will..
Great name.. You can tell peeps he was your grandfather! :)

Doolittle is a nice surname. You seem to have adopted it for yourself already, and it fits you wonderfully, at least here!
If you have given this conscientious thought and feel it is the right thing for you, I fully support your decision!

What I am trying to say is to do it because you KNOW it's what you want to do. It's time-consuming and isn't free.
Personally, I think it's cool.
I thought it WAS your name already.......I use several variations of my names for fun and to distract or confuse...simply because I can!!!....I can see only positive in a name like Doolittle due to its' affiliation with loving and caring for animals...one of my favorite movie memories for sure Doc...plus I like the nickname "Doc"...met a biker on the train once named "Rev"...turned out to be a fully ordained minister/reverend of a church with red flaming hair down to his belt....see I thought his name meant rev as in engine revs!!!Silly me...hahaha! and... I'd marry someone named Doolittle and open a pet emporium called"Doo-Doos'" or Double Doolittles' Dog Diner.....the list is endless...if I were the marrying kind that is!Aha!

It may be taken literally and nobody will employ you, nobody will marry you, and no body will associate you with the doctor Doolittle cos not many people know the old movies. There are a lot of negatives to a "doolittle" so I would suggest that you reconsider the choice "Dolots?"
