what that means is that in the descending part of your colon ( the lower vertical part ), they think you might have a melanosis . So they're trying to r / o that. >. >>> i.e. rule out by doing the colonoscopy. The r/o part is not a diagnosis. It's a rationale to the health insurance company to get them to compensate you or the hospital or to pay for it. A melanosis in your colon is a stenosis......a..narrowing hole making it hard for the colon to pass fecal matter through it. If that is the case, I suppose they can open it up during the colonoscopy by cleaning out the grundge or dialating the narrowed passage, or by putting in a stent.
