CHICAGO – Singer Whitney Houston died from ingesting a lethal cocktail of prescription drugs and alcohol rather than drowning, the entertainment news website TMZ reported Monday, citing family sources. The Los Angeles County Coroner told the late pop star's relatives that there was not enough water in her lungs to kill her, TMZ noted, and she was likely dead before she went under in the bathtub in her room at the Beverly Hilton over the weekend. Houston was 48 years old.
