Lots of questions only need one answer,

lots lie in distant pages unanswered,

lots are simply unanswerable.

Plus there are really not thousands of active members.

Stats get confusing sometimes.

It's funny you say that i noticed the exact same thing "romos is right on the money...

My nunber of answers is roughly what you posted, 1500+, if members answer the number of questions as i do, which are ones that only appeal to the individual and not every question under the sun, to try and gain more karma points, 1.3 answers is about right, plus some questions are not worth viewing.

The number is out of  perspective.  The unaswered questions,for the most part, shouldn't even be counted as questions.  They should be listed under   "oops, got the wrong number, please don't count me."

Without any exageration intended, I'd say 49% of all questions are answerable.

230,276 x 49%  =  112,835  as best  are worthy of a count  

305,111 answers to 112,835 Q 's    =   2.7  Ans / Ques
