Don't know. But I remembered a discussion with my high school science teacher. He explained that there were literally hundreds of species of ants, yet none of them would procreate with one another although occupying the same area. Yet humans mix inter-racially, culturally. This is true with every species of animal and insects. Is mother nature telling us something?

The Inch Ant, can be longer than an inch up to 2 inches, now we are metric the ant should be called A 2.5 cm ANT up to 5cm ant. The scouts can cover incredible distances looking for food, i have only seen two where i live which is amazing as these ants are from the out back. i remember my uncle who used to live in Broken hill was at a pub outside the city limits so there was no 6pm closing( this was 50 yrs. ago) went to the out house around 100ft. from the pub, there was no light in there , he was about to sit down and he heard rustling so he lit a match , the toilet seat was absolutely covered with inch ants, he didn't say where he actually went to finish off. These little buggers not only bite but have stinger as well.
