When you are selling your iPod, you should clear everything off of it so new purchasers cannot access your personal information and music. The easiest way to do this is by formatting the iPod completely. When attached to a Windows computer, go to "My Computer," right-click on the device and select the option that says "Format...". From there, you should do a complete format and rename the iPod to something like "iPod" or "Default." Test the iPod to make sure that everything has been removed properly.
