5/10 = n/6
How do you solve this? You first must think about what the relationship is between the 5 and the 10. I'm going to "assume" you already know the 5/10 is the same as 1/2. You already know that 5*2 = 10.
What number has the same relationship to 6 that 10 has to 5? 10 is twice as much as 5....6 is twice as much as3.
3/6 = 1/2 OOH 5/10 = 1/2, too!
You can also, as mentioned about, cross-multiply.
5/10 * n/6 (5 * 6, 10 * n) 30/10n divide both by 10 (gets 'n' alone) 3 = n
Prove it: Put "3" in the unknown place 5/10 = 3/6 This is true.

I think ill just have a sleeping pill and have a lie down Bob,
I don't think you get carried away when answering math problems. You and I just don't give the answer, we give an explanation on how we got the answer. I too, think that an explanation will help the QA.
