    ??? never heard of it???
    jhharlan

I invented it in grade school...

POTATO CHIP cookies.  They come complete with crushed "regular" potato chips (does anyone remember those?) and butterscotch chips.  Found the recipe on the back of brown sugar box 20 years ago.

Never heard of these but I see there are lots of recipes for them on the internet...love potato chips!

    chocolate chip

    My favorite is Butter Scotch.

    Bob/PKB

You and I may be in a class by ourselves. Adding butterscotch chips to the potato chip cookies makes them delicious. For that matter, adding butterscotch sauce to ice cream makes ice cream delicious. :D
    sunnyB

Yes love butterscotch sauce on ice cream is fantastic.Yea we must be classy

My mom's cooked raisin filled. Fortunately, my sister still makes them.

    mycatsmom

My mom's special too. I would make them, if I had anybody to eat them. My bro and his fam live in other states.

    It’s in my mouf....sorry.

Chocolate chip is my favorite, but I have hundreds of second choices!!

    Bob/PKB

Years ago, I would bake 10-12 different kinds of cookies for Christmas. I simply 'assumed' my kids enjoyed helping. What a feast to have so many cookies around, even after packaging up 6-8 trays for gifts.

A moist and soft chocolate chip.

    mycatsmom

    mmmm, yeah, slurp !
    Bob/PKB

There is actually a very soft, moist cc cookie that tastes like it just came from your own oven or a bakery. Can't remember the name, but they aren't even expensive, per se.

I love all cookies, but my favorite has to be chocolate chip. I love chocolate. Yum!

    Bob/PKB

It's hard to find a BAD chocolate chip cookie. Chocolate, yes, good stuff.

choc chip, of course.......baked from scratch. Must have dark choc chips and still be warm when I bit into one. Can hardly keep the saliva swallowed thinking about it.  Love brownies too......real chewy ones  :-p

    Bob/PKB

Are you heading to the kitchen to do a little baking?? I bought some Oreos to dip in chocolate for Christmas and never got around to it (too much time here), so I am slowly eating them (all the preservatives...they'll last til October).
Re: Streisand....I definitely have a nose, but not the cat eyes OR the amazing voice.

    chocolate chip......toll house recipe

    Bob/PKB

    That's the classic!

It's a tie between chocolate chip and peanubutter blossoms.

    Bob/PKB

What makes peanut butter blossoms special? They aren't "regular" PB cookies, are they?
    witchway

Bob/PBK, No, they are peanutbutter cookies with a Hershey's kiss in the middle. Yummy

    sugar cookie,oatmeal raisin.COOKIE.

    Bob/PKB

Making sugar cookies with cookie cutters is a really fun thing to do at different holiday times. Decorating them used to be a nice time with my kids. :D

Anzac Biscuits. We have biscuits in Australia not "cookies:

    Corn Flake biscuits.

    Chocolate Wheaten.

    Tommyh

You'd better explain ANZAC bikkies. They probably think they're made with vegemite.
    Bob/PKB

Aren't they? :D It does present a different image of "biscuit" verses cookie. And "wheaten"...made with wheat flour??? And, yes, what ARE anzac biscuits?
    PEOPLELOVER

Anzac biscuits are made with oatmeal and golden syrup. no idea what "golden syrup" is in Yankee land but it is similar to molasses or treacle (god they won`t know what treacle is either) but a golden colour and not as strong a flavour,
They were "invented" for want of a better word during WW1 when food supplies were low so the women used to send parcels of these biscuits to the troops in Germany.
Bob stay with the programme, to the Australian troops not the German.
Anyway that is what they are are were called Anzac biscuits for obvious reasons, well obvious to a Aussie.
Chocolate wheaten are made with wheaten flour and have tiny particles of wheat in them so you get that nice nutty flavour.
They can be plain or chocolate covered on one side.
Tommy in future pull your head in, no one would have asked. But Oh! no Mr smarty pants has to go and open his big trap.
    Bloody great mate you are.
    itsmee

Tommy, now that is REALLY funny. I wouldn’t be the least surprised if Vegemite doesn’t come up on the cookie forum.

It's okay that someone asked PL...look at all the people (I should say "mates") who have just read your explanation and actually learned something today already! haha
    PEOPLELOVER

Don`t worry Ducka Tommy and I take the (urine) out of each other all the time.
My comments to him are the things we Aussies say to our friend who understand the true intent.
    Bob/PKB

Thank you for a great history lesson, Peoplelover. We really do enjoy hearing about Australia and our good Aussie mates.
    PEOPLELOVER

Thanks Bob, we are proud of our country and like to skite about how good it is to be a Aussie. Skite means show off.
    hector5559

Is that what was called hard tack,Peoplelover,?????????
    PEOPLELOVER

No Hector ,hard tack is the old time Navey biscuits that was on the sailing ships as it might get full of weavils but that was more protein.
They were made I believe by grinding up a piece of granite and a piece of sandstone and mixing them together with cement. Sailors teeth did not fall out because of scurvy, they broke them off eating the hard tack.
They were a flour based biscuit actualy.

    short bread

    Cocolate Ecliars,hmm,hmm,

    Bob/PKB

    YUM. Custard or creme?
    hector5559

    double cream of course.

It’s not exactly a cookie but at the bakery it sits in there with all the other cookies. My favorite: Bread Pudding!

    Bob/PKB

    Works for mee :D

    Cookie Monster

Here we go again...you have caused me to salivate...must search for chocolate...

Moravian cookies, their hard to get hold of and harder to keep. Yum!

    Bob/PKB

    What's the secret ingredient?
    Daisy!

I have no idea, I found them in Old Salem touring. I try to make it back every year and buy several boxes. It maybe on line now. It's a sweet village. I like to watch them bake in the old ovens, shoe horses and make oak baskets.
    I left u an email.
    Bob/PKB

That sounds like a place where time stood still! What a wonderful trip to the past!
    Daisy!

It's a nice place, they had a few strange ideas. The women were buried in one grave yard, the men in another, and children in another. You didn't rest beside loved ones. You also had to leave home at 13 and live in a bachelors house, there you were taught a trade. It was interesting. It's a beautiful place, look up Old Salem, NC. I'm sure they have pictures.

    peanut butter

    Bob/PKB

    crunchy or creamy peanut butter
    Nene43

I meant peanut butter cookie. with either creamy or crunchy. Actually, I prefer crunchy.
