sharon, I answered this for you...you must have typed it twice.
In short, medical professionals use short-cuts for long complicated names of diseases and medications. I highly suggest you call your husband's doctor and ask for the complete name and spelling. Also ask what type of disease it is ( a skin problem, a liver problem, a heart problem...etc)
With this information we can help you look for good websites to read. The Mayo Clinic has an excellent website. It describes many diseases well. It is free and most people find it user friendly and written so they can understand it.
