She seems a very nervous dog, I,ve had one exactly the same, there,s medication for it but I wouldn,t recommend that route, she needs to be one of the pack ( family ) give her a little more attention than you would usually, a little extra walk occasionally as well as a lot of interaction with your husband,little treats and little rules always worked for my dog, given time she,ll be ok, she had a bad start to her wee life.

God knows what her life was like as a pup, show her that she is accepted into the family, give her lots of love and daily walks.

The dog is still trying to trust dogs and humans, It will take awhile be calm and caring during this time.....Build up the trust......{:D

Cesar Milan ,Dog whisper ,has TV show and is a big help to dogs . Also has lots of books and videos to help dog people . Patience and more patience is the key . Good luck with this and please give us updates . This dog needs lots of love for sure . Do a goggle search for Cesar .    Bill

My son adopted a Dalmation who was found running scared on a major highway in CT. His age was estimated to be about 2-3 yrs. old. He was scared of his own shadow. When someone rang the doorbell, he would hide.  Any loud noise and he would jump on sons lap.I had 3 cats and 2 dogs and when my son came for a visit with his dog,C.J., he immediately tried to go after my cats. When I scolded him , he cowered on the floor and covered his head with his paws. He became less fearful over time, but it never completly went away. We were sure that something bad had happened to him before my son adopted him. I think  it will take some time and patience, before your dog will realize that he is safe and loved.

  my heart goes out to you and this poor dog I read everyones answers and they have really said what I would have said I think you will have to take lots of time and ask your husband if he will feed her and not you and perhaps if he and her could sleep together in a separate room for about a week she sees him as the pac leader and she is scared of him and never look this dog the eyes untill you know it more as you say its not scared of other dogs it looks to me its been a human damage the dogs whisper is the best by caser malan well done to you and hubby taken a dog on like this just remember time and time it will pay off good luck

Yes, sounds like the dog was pounded on from the other dogs and maybe people. Give her a treat at  the same time everyday by herself in the morning and evening . She will learn to expect it and build trust.
