It is addictive and it ruins young brains. Not only that, do you know it stunts human growth and also inhibits sexual performance? It should be banned and all dope smokers should be jailed. In Singapore the Government interns addicts until they are cured. And of course the dealers get the noose.

No I do not and it kills brain cells of which you have obviously lost wayyyyy tooo many already.

Part of the reason it's not more widely legalized is that it is difficult to test for "high" (like a DUI). 
You just know there would be "checkpoints" to nab people and impound their vehicles for being under the influence.  

It should be legal for those that have a doctor's prescription for it. Many people say it has helped them with cancer pain, nausea from chemo,depression, arthritis, and many other maladies.

Can you imagine how many voters obama would pick up if this is legalized ? 

My grandfather, a very good physician, prescribed cannabis frequently until it became illegal.  He blamed those who exploited it..............

I live in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia, Canada. This article above is common in this part of the world... One more drug dealer shot dead in public.

What recreational pot smokers don't seem to get through their heads is that cannnabis is only the tip of the iceberg.  What we really need is that you stop smoking pot... that way innocent people would not get caught in the crossfire... Honest people would not have to worry about putting gas in their car without getting shot or going to the mall or being on vacation in Kelowna.  We certainly wouldn't have to open our newspapers and read how hard done by one of the Bacon brothers is or how bad things are in jail.  Heck, taxpayers would not have to pay for the Bacon brothers being in jail at all... wouldn't that be nice?

Legalizing drugs will not make things better... They will just invent new ones... and I can read about someone else's child dying of an ecstacy like drug overdose... 2 last weekend... nice!

It seems as though every time we humans decide to try something else to "help us through life", someone thinks we need to legalize it! Dumb idea.

I think it schould be available for people with cancer or other pain related illnesses. It is much safer than narcotics. I think the Pharmacutical companies  are lobbying against the use of Marijuana. They would loose a great deal of revenue.

Weed makes you stupid. If you believe all that s***, that it's not habit forming your an idiot. If you think it doesn't cause lung cancer your an idiot. If you think it will solve the countries money problem your an idiot. Continue attempting to justify your stupid behavior and others will also call you an idiot. Continue smoking that garbage. All societies have a segment of the population that are a boil on the a** of normal thinking people.  Boil.

Alcohol ruins many lives. Nicotine ruins more. Marijuana, of course, is a drug. It’s probably better to live drug free.The problem is that people don’t live drug free. We always seem to want something to help us roll with the punches of life. Marijuana is fairly safe. It never makes people mean. A tax on pot would help the United States financially. We wouldn’t have to prosecute people who smoke pot. We wouldn’t have to keep them in our jails.

For people who suffer intractible chronic pain, Marijuana is excellent (For some patients) I never hear much about Marinol. Physicians have a difficult time prescribing it, I guess.

Children are tempted by drugs ~ alcohol, nicotine, marijuana, crack, smack, BOOM! Of course we need to keep the kids away. That’s always a problem. It will continue to be.

Cannabis has many health benifits and I'm sure most leaders in charged have inhailed. Just like alcohol it should be used in moderation and like alcohol there is where the problems arise.

My grand mother and her friends smoked pot and made Tea and Brownies when I was a child. They all grew it openly in their gardens. The only harm I saw from it was when it was prohibited by law beginning about 1950. Look at all the harm to peoples lives that law has done, what it has cost all of us in its enforced prohibition. It was a cheap alternative to alcohol back then and didn’t produce those drumming headaches that booze did. I can’t help but to wonder if it wasn’t the alcohol industry that  was, in any way, responsible for lobbying against mary jane to run out the competition. Of course it could also be the alcohol industries revenge against pot for being so inspirational at political gatherings when women sought the right to vote and bring down the booze industry. Sort of a tit for tat…by the overlords of darkness. HA.

It should be legalized. It's foolish to waste resources and money prosecuting marijuana cases. It would also become another tax source for government.

Everyone is entitled/allowed to choose the method of shortening his/her life: overeating, overdrinking alcohool, smoking/chewing tobacco,car racing, etc..

Why not marijuana variety of cannabis?

perhaps if it were legislated by the goverment and used under tight guidelines , the goverment could help pay of the  national defecit , really whats worse alcohol or marijuana
