There are numerous reasons for researching. The main reason for research is often due to school-related assignments. Students should be taught to research as soon as possible. The first type of research should be use of the dictionary. Many people do not view this is as research; however, if one defines research as "finding information previously unknown," it fits. Thus, education from elementary schools through graduate school by both students and teachers is the answer one would expect to your question. There are so many other reasons to research a topic. A FEW examples include: learning about medication you have been prescribed; learning more about a medical diagnosis or procedure which you have discussed with your physician; discovering what a candidate's stand on topics is and his/her record of voting previously; finding the best deals on an item you would like to purchase and also the brand which has received the highest ratings; where to vacation and the activities in the area; and so much more. I research collectibles and antiques as that is a hobby for which I did receive certification. I am also always looking for new craft ideas, the best children's books, how to complete something new, tips for gardening and photography, and so many more topics. I could go on and on, but I hope you have learned that there are countless topics to research.
