Are you sure she does not have fleas? Does she have red bumps or scabs? Usually all it takes is a change in food. A better meat based natural food, not Supermarket food. She may be allergic to fleas. If she has fleas, bathe her with Dawn dishwasing lotion. Make sure you dont get it in her eyes.

As Ann says she may have a flea allergy? There will be spots around the base of the back above the tail. Also you can bath her with emulsifying ointment and then rub this into the dry skin. Emulsifying ointment is used for children even babies and adults with exzema - non presciption product. To make a bath one tablespoon or more to boiling water run under bath water - very soothing and good for the skin - also can be got in liquid form.(Oilatum).

Do not use boiling water on the dog. Make sure the bath water is luke warm and do not leave her long in the water.
Colleen - I am sorry if this is not clear - one tablespoon or more of the ointment disolved in boiling water - then add to bath water - I said run under bath water i.e. when making the bath - obviously not on the dog.I am not contradicting you having now read your answer - this is not just a bath it is curative - obviously bathing ordinarily and too often will dry the skin further.
