    What is the best program to convert a file to a video?

    I recently got given a episode of True Blood that is a file, i have tried some programs but when i click browse to add video to be converted it doesn't show up.

        Its a video but where it normally says something like AVI it just says file?

        I can't get you a converter without the name of the file. Sorry, this one has me stumped and apparently Google too because it needs a name to search with also.
