I guess by now you know how to do these!
Substitution Method
2x = 3 - y
Move negative y to the left side and change it to positive y. Then move positive 2x to the right side and change it to negative 2x.
y = -2x + 3
Now, put the value of y in the next equation.
2(-2x + 3) = 12 - x
-4x + 6 = 12 -x
+x -6 -6 +x
-3x = 6
-3 -3
x = -2
Now, solve for y. Put the x value in either equation.
y = -2x + 3 > you can use this equation or the original equations.
y = -2(-2) + 3
y = 4 + 3
y = 7
Solution:
(-2,7)
