Tom Jones. Fabulous singer and performer. Always heard how gifted he is/was, in more ways than one.
    Shootah

I have that song on CD. Every now and then I'll listen to his music. He had quite a voice.

The single (45rpm) of Elvis singing Love Me Tender.

"Theme For Young Lovers" a 45 rpm hit single by The Shadows on Columbia DB 7321 in March, 1964 and I still have it 48 years later.

    itsmee

Amazing! Your accuracy of memory and your care of your collection. I don’t know the song - wish I did.
Glad to have you here, David Rayner1.

    WHO'S NEXT by the Who.................

    bulletman

I also saw the who back in '66, the animals , small faces and paul jones from manfred man all at the same concert. -- those were the days.

It was a Jackson Browne album...My sister had a similar taste in music, and being older, a good collection...but she didn't like JB

    itsmee

I love Jackson Brown. My favorite is probably The Pretender.
“Out into the evening, walks the pretender
He knows that all his hopes and dreams begin and end there.”
By the way, I remember lyrics.
    Shootah

He had some good music out there!
    doolittle

Man, that was a loong time ago :)

Summer Days and Summer Nights by the Beach Boys, the  album i bought with my first weekly wages, it cost me 15 shillings and sixpence, i still play it today,

    Bob/PKB

LOVE those Beach Boys. My sister had every album they recorded. Got to hear them in Fresno about 30 years ago. Sang along to every song!
    Shootah

I've always had an appreciation for the Beach Boys. They put out a lot of music, and some really unique music.
    bulletman

I loved the Beach Boys music as at that time iwas an ardent surfer.

Johnny Mathis, with the song chances are on it.  that was over 30 years ago.

It was a Lover Boy album....I had plans to get a gang of girls and all of us dressing in leather walking around with a boom box pretending to be cool. Life was so bloody simple minded back in those days!

    itsmee

“Everybody’s Workin’ For The Weekend” (Great song!)
    mom

lol...brings back so many memories, I was in grade 7 when that came out. I wanted so much to be a cool Loverboy groupie.Life is fun!

The "Best of Bread", 1974.  I was just 11 yrs old.  My Aunt let me pick it out for my birthday, or rather she coaxed me into this album, but ALL these years later I am still grateful to her for that as I love Bread...probably in my top 10 fave sentimental albums.

""This was my very first album i bought when i was 12 years old.I now have it on CD.

    ROMOS

    Shootah

    Gotta love those doots!

I forget the title, it was an LP from the Firehouse Five Plus Two playing dixieland jazz. Anyone remember them ?

    west-bus

The Firehouse Five Plus Two was a Dixieland jazz band, popular in the 1950s, consisting of members of the Walt Disney Studios animation department. The band was active from 1949 to 1972, playing and recording while never giving up their day jobs as animators and artists with the Walt Disney Studios.

    bulletman

Loved hair, saw it in the sixties and then in the 90's, appreciated it more in the ninties as it was no longer a Protest musical.
    desert_prencess

Loved the movie too couldnt believe how many stars were in it,when I saw it as an adault again. Can still sit and watch it. Sad, but remember almost all the lyrics to every song.

Benny Hill and Miss Piggy Eh? Good sense of humour, I like it...lol...KOTF.

The first album I ever bought, was one that the first name of the musicians were, "Mark, Don, and Mel." It was actually a well-known group, but I'm having a braain cramp at the moment. The album had one particular song that had the words, "ride Captain, ride that mystery ship."

    Bob/PKB

I remember that song, but am no help on the group's name, nor the lyrics (obviously). :D
    Doots are the bomb.
    Bob/PKB

    The Blues Image

My first 45rpm was "Brown Sugar" by the Rolling Stones, the flip-side was "Bitch". 69cents plus 3 cents sales tax.

The first album that I bought was "Every Picture Tells A Story", about $4 I think.

O.K... my mother payed for the Partridge Family Album! My favorite song was "I Can Feel Your Heartbeat" :)

That would be Cinderella with a book to go with the record.  I played it over and over again.  I must have been 6 or 7 at the time.

    abby grant

did it have a lady telling the story and she rung a bell so knew when to turn the page?

    ....Dream Lover

"The Best of Bread".  Still have.
